Days of Service at Cisco, Bangalore

cisco3 Three teams at CISCO decided to spend their valuable time nurturing nature and children alike. Shivanahalli Forest, near Bannerghata National park, is synonymous with Ramakrishna Mission. A Mission undertaken by Vishnumayananda Swamiji to transform around 150 acres of barren land to lush green forest. Cisco employees did their bit by planting 100 saplings of various plant species in the forest by forming two teams.
Skype calls to connect donor and child in Vidyachetana

Vidyachetana is a well known YFS initiative that has helped shape many childrens lives. In the busy walks of life, it becomes difficult for a sponsor to meet the child in person, especially when you are staying far away from them. A fresh approach was introduced by Vidyachetana YFS Volunteers, making the best use of technology, to break this barrier by connecting the child and his/her sponsor through Skype call.
Lack of information is lack of inspiration
Dr. Arathi The celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi and Seva Sankalp Divas on 26th January, 2014 was an enriching experience to all those who were a part of it. The guest list included two members of the advisory board of YFS  Sri N.V.Raghuram, International Coordinator, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana and Sri Srikantan Moorthy, Sr. Vice President and Group Head HRD, Infosys. Further, Sri D.M. Kiran, president of YFS was also present.

nithyanandaCerebral palsy (CP) is a general term for a group of permanent, non-progressive movement disorders that cause physical disability in development, mainly in the areas of body movement. A Definition given by Wikipedia . But my experience when met with Nithyananda, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, forced me to question the definition.

Rajiv Hassan has been with YFS for almost 3 years now. He has been working for 6 years in the software industry. He joined YFS in early 2011 after getting to know about YFS while listening to the introductory speech given by Shri. Venkatesh Murthy during his company’s JDA.
