Virtual Volunteering Opportunities

1. VandeKaarmikam

This event is to provide COVID Kits (it can include Sanitizer, Masks, Gloves, Face Shield, Kashaya Powder, etc.,) to the COVID Warriors like BBMP Garbage Pickers, D Group workers at Hospitals, Ambulance Drivers, etc.

What you can do? - You can choose to give the Kit to the garbage pickers who come to your house/ apartments to pick the garbage & take a pic of the same & share it in your Social Media handles with the #YFS #VandeKaarmikam.

2. Each One Plant & Nurture One

This is an environmental initiative from YFS to increase awareness & also plant more and more saplings/ trees.

What you can do? - You can plant it on your terrace, space nearby or at the school nearby & make sure it is nurtured in the long run. Once it is done, again take a pic of the same & share in your Social Media handles with the #YFS #EachOnePlant&NurtureOne along with nominating your friends & relatives to take up the challenge.

3. Narayana Patra/ Mushti Dhanya

This is to increase Seva manobhav/ service feelings among the youngest members of the family & also help the needy in the best possible way that we can.

What you can do? - Before you have food/ cook every day, make sure that the youngest member of your family will keep a fistful of rice aside in a box/ bag. Once the bag/ box is full (minimum of 5kg), you can reach out to me to donate it to the nearby slum or orphanage/ old age home where it is needed. Once it is done, again take a pic of the same & share your Social Media handles with the #YFS #NarayanaPaatra #MushtiDhanya along with nominating your friends & relatives to take up the challenge.

4.Paper Bag Making

To avoid usage of plastic, making & distributing the paper bags will help a lot. This can be made of old newspapers that we may have at our house.

What you can do? - Decide to do a fixed number of paper bags - daily or weekly using the old news paper & gum. You can also involve the children around your area. Once a fortnight or a month you can distribute the same to the nearby medical shops, stationary shops or ration shops - requesting them to use paper bags & avoid plastic bags. Once it is done, again take a pic of the same & share in your Social Media handles with the #YFS #PaperBagMaking #AvoidPlastic along with nominating your friends & relatives to take up the challenge.

5. Online Teaching

Teach mental aptitude for government school children of class 8 to clear the competitive exam called NMMS (A national level scholarship exam for govt. & govt. aided school children) & help them earn a scholarship amount of INR 12k per year for 4 years (till they complete 2nd PU, 12th Grade).

Help government school children improve their spoken English & basic mathematical skill through teaching them the same – virtually, share the content in the groups, give the assignments, correct the mistakes, teach online or one on one over a phone call.
