Paranjyothi started her volunteering journey by teaching poor students in Arya sevashrama while she was still studying. It is amazing to see her enthusiasm in volunteering at the age of 60 years. Her life experience in

different ventures has enriched her to play the role of guide in several social sectors. Paranjyothi started her journey with Youth For Seva from 2010. She began teaching spoken English and other subjects in government schools. Her constant connection with schools allowed her to connect very closely with students and school staff. She found that lot of students were getting dropped out of school for various reasons and most of the students were not pursuing study beyond high school. Paranjyothi wanted to address this issue and adopted 12 students to

support their studies. For these students Paranjyothi’s house become the primary house and they used to go back to their homes just for sleeping. The academic success of these students motivated Paranjyothi to start Kusama Jyothi trust in 2017. Through trust, Paranjyothi continues to help students through scholorship programs. Paranjyothi also took an initiative to produce a documentary movie to highlight the importance of Education. As part of fellowship Paranjyothi continues to focus on 4 government schools in Bangalore to engage the students and

teachers in learning. She has organized student development and teacher development programs. Apart from school, she also volunteers in Doctors for Seva group participating in health camps and other health

initiatives in schools and orphanages. Her commitment towards selfless service has a huge impact on youth volunteers. Being Vijayanagar zonal coordinator she conducts the volunteer meetings at home planning regular activities.
