I started my first ever volunteering activity through YFS in the year 2011. And, I am still continuing. In the beginning, I used to teach Mathematics daily in a government school near my residence. Gradually, YFS gave me opportunity to explore other volunteering options, such as managing the volunteer activities in the school, plan various education-related activities, organize events, and so on. Over a period, I understood that I gained more knowledge than I gave my expertise. One of the major skills I learned as a part-time volunteer is Time Management. I learnt how to prioritize and plan my personal, professional, and social works. My journey with YFS is fulfilling as it helped me sensitize the needs in a society and understand my strength/limitation in addressing those needs.
